The Exact Group was founded in 2007 by Stephen and Marie Cromie.
Stephen, with a wealth of knowledge and experience in engineering, has built the company up over many years. From his first engineering business in 1999, which kitted out fast food chains, then in 2007, he added a conventional milling and turning shop with fabrication, further adding an engine refurbishment shop in 2009.
It was in 2013 that Stephen saw the opportunity and need for a scalable business primarily rooted in CNC Milling and Turning – Exact CNC was born.
Alongside Stephen at every step has been his wife, Marie. Her finance knowledge and business acumen has added real value to the many businesses over the last 20 years.
Today, the Exact Group operates from a modern 72,000 sq. ft. facility on the outskirts of Newry, near the Carnbane Industrial area. The organisation utilises significant lean methodology and efficiency modelling to maximise operational capacity on the site. The factory is five minutes from Newry, about 60 mins from Belfast and about 60 mins from Dublin.
The Exact Group has many years of experience in the precision engineering and composite finishing sectors, and coupled with cutting-edge equipment and techniques, they remain the supplier of choice for many global businesses operating in the aerospace, automotive, electrical, energy, marine, medical, pharmaceutical, power and transport industries.
With significant growth experienced since its inception, the company houses a composite finishing state-of-the-art suite, six paint ovens and over 70 CNC Turning and Milling machines, which operate 24 hours a day, seven days a week and 365 days a year.
Operating in two distinct areas, Composites and CNC, the Exact Group offers a range of high-quality services, primarily providing a Rapid Response (Speed Shop) service to the aircraft interiors industry.
More recently Stephen has added Exact Medical to his company portfolio as he looks to expand in this sector.
